Nine-Member Municipal-Level Child Club Network Formed in Panchpokhari Thangpal

6 October 2026, Sindhupalchok.
A nine-member municipal-level child club network has been formed in Panchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality through a Child Congress organised by the Rural Municipality on 6 October 2026. The event brought together children and representatives from different wards to discuss child rights, protection, and collective action on issues affecting children and their communities.

The newly formed network will provide a common platform to raise children’s concerns, coordinate child-led initiatives, and engage with the local government and other relevant stakeholders on matters related to child rights, protection, and well-being.

CWIN-Nepal, through the Prayatna – Children Leading Change project, with the support of Woord en Daad, provided technical assistance for the formation process. The support included facilitating thematic and objective sessions on Child Rights, Child Protection, and Child Participation, focusing on strengthening children’s knowledge of their rights, protection mechanisms, responsibilities, and avenues for engagement with local government.

The sessions were facilitated by Ms. Nirijana Bhatta, Programme Manager, and Mr. Umesh Lama, and co-facilitated by Ms. Parikshya Shiwakoti, Mr. Shishir Shiwakoti, and Ms. Sange Dolma Samden Tamang.

The formation of the nine-member network marks a step forward in strengthening children-led change in Panchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality. It is expected to support collective initiatives and provide a stronger platform for children to raise issues concerning their rights, protection, and well-being.
