The Minister for Women, Children, and Senior Citizens Program

Addressing the National Dialogue, jointly organised by CWIN Nepal and Terres Des Hommes Netherlands, Minister Acharya expressed his commitment to invest in child protection. Representatives of the National Adolescent Girls and Boys National Network handed over a memorandum to Minister Acharya, detailing their concerns over online child protection. The memorandum called for strong government services and a system for safeguarding children while online.

Earlier this week, 20 adolescents and young people from different parts of Nepal gathered in a workshop to delve deeper into the problems associated with online child sexual exploitation. The workshop was devoted to talking about common problems and coming up with solutions for improved protection of children in the digital space. The young participants also learned about producing awareness reels for social media on staying safe online.
