Tokha Municipality Implements School Child Protection Standards 2082

6th May 2026, Kathmandu.
Tokha Municipality has implemented the “Tokha Municipality School Child Protection Standards, 2082” for all community and private schools within its jurisdiction. The standards have come into effect following their publication in the Local Gazette.
According to the municipality, the standards establish necessary policy provisions to ensure the safety, protection, and rights of children within schools. Under these provisions, schools are required to create child-friendly environments, prevent violence, abuse, and exploitation, establish grievance handling mechanisms, and conduct awareness and sensitization programs.
CWIN Nepal has welcomed this initiative taken by Tokha Municipality, stating that it will play an important role in promoting safe and child-friendly school environments. The organization also emphasized the need for strong coordination among stakeholders and regular monitoring to ensure effective implementation of the standards.
