Gauri Pradhan honoured with National Human Rights Award

Human Rights Magna Meet has honoured Gauri Pradhan, Founder President of Child Workers in Nepal Concerned Centre (CWIN) with National Human Rights Award on the occasion of International Human Rights Day 2014 on December 9, 2014.

According to the organiser, Pradhan was felicitated for his exemplary efforts and relentless contribution to national human rights movement and pioneering child rights movement in Nepal by establishing CWIN in 1987, even before the adoption of the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). He has dedicated more than three decades of his life in the field of human rights, served as Human Rights Commissioner for 6 years in National Human Rights Commission.

The Manga Meet was organised with the joint effort of the National Human Rights Commission and organisations working in the field of human rights. The organising committee had formed a separate section for the selection of an eligible candidate for the award.
