CWIN-Nepal, with the support of FORUT-Norway, successfully organized an Effective Communication Skills Training for nurses serving at Kathmandu Model Hospital. A total of 30 nurses participated in the training.
The objective of the session was to strengthen nurses’ communication capacities, particularly focusing on empathetic listening and patient-centered communication. Participants were introduced to various methods of effective and compassionate communication that are essential in healthcare settings.
During the interactive discussions, nurses shared their professional experiences and reflected on what works best in effective communication, especially in situations involving patients under stress. The discussions emphasized how empathetic listening, clear messaging, and respectful interaction contribute to better service delivery and patient satisfaction.
The training provided a valuable platform for participants to enhance their interpersonal skills, reaffirming the role of effective communication in delivering quality healthcare services.
