June 18, 2025 | Kathmandu
In partnership with Terre des Hommes Netherlands, CWIN-Nepal organized a workshop in Kathmandu focusing on strengthening services to address Online Child Sexual Exploitation (OCSE). The event brought together children, youth, government officials, human rights institutions, and civil society organizations to discuss pressing concerns and collaborative solutions to better protect children in the digital space.

Participants raised critical issues around the barriers children face when reporting online abuse—such as shame, fear, social pressure, lack of support systems, and limited awareness of legal rights and procedures. The discussions also highlighted the urgent need for child-friendly services and comprehensive online safety education for children, parents, teachers, and law enforcement agencies.

Calls were made for child-sensitive laws and simplified access to justice that ensures survivors are supported, protected, and heard without judgment or delay. Superintendent of Police Deepakraj Awasthi addressed the growing risks of online violence against children and stressed the importance of parental awareness and vigilance as the first line of defense.
