Position: Child Protection Case Manager

Duty Station: Project locations with frequent field travel (Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Kathmandu)

 

CWIN-Nepal is seeking a qualified and experienced Child Protection Case Manager to lead the implementation of a child protection project through Child Helpline Nepal 1098.

The Case Manager will provide project leadership and technical supervision for child protection case management, with particular attention to flood-affected children, separated and unaccompanied children, children at risk of gender-based violence, and other vulnerable children requiring special protection.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead overall project implementation, planning, coordination, monitoring, and reporting.
• Supervise Social Workers and provide regular technical support and case management supervision.
• Ensure timely identification, assessment, case planning, referral, follow-up, and closure of child protection cases.
• Support family tracing, reunification, alternative care, and follow-up of separated and unaccompanied children.
• Coordinate GBV-sensitive and survivor-centred referrals for children requiring specialized services.
• Strengthen service mapping and referral pathways through Child Helpline Nepal 1098.
• Coordinate with local governments, Local Child Rights Committees, District Administration Offices, District Coordination Committees, service providers, and relevant child protection mechanisms.
• Support and engage in capacity-building of Social Workers, frontline workers, and local child protection actors / mechanisms.
• Ensure accurate case documentation and timely entry and updating of case information in CPIMS.
• Prepare regular programme reports and support monitoring, review, and learning processes.
• Ensure compliance with child safeguarding, confidentiality, PSEA, and data protection requirements.

Qualification and Experience

• Master’s degree in Law, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Child Development, or another relevant field.
• Candidates with a relevant bachelor’s degree and substantial professional experience may also be considered.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in child protection, social work, case management, humanitarian response, legal protection, or related programmes.
• Demonstrated experience in project management, including planning, implementation, team supervision, coordination, monitoring, and reporting.
• Experience working with vulnerable children, including separated and unaccompanied children, is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of child rights, child protection legislation, alternative care, GBV response, and referral mechanisms is preferred.
• Previous experience coordinating with government authorities, local governments, development partners, and service providers will be an advantage.

• Ability to work under pressure and respond appropriately during emergencies.
• Willingness to travel frequently to project areas.
