CWIN-Nepal was established in 1987 and has over three-decades-long history working for the rights of the child and against child labour exploitation. The key areas of concern of CWIN-Nepal are child labour, street children, child marriage, bonded labour, child trafficking, children in conflict and commercial sexual exploitation of children. CWIN-Nepal is a pioneer organization in Nepal which has continuously worked for the voice of children through lobby-advocacy, campaigns. These campaigns have been helpful in persuading the government to protect and promote children's rights in the country. As a result, there has been a reduction in the exploitation, abuse and discrimination to children

The Girls Advocacy Alliance (GAA) program is a 5-year program (2016-2020) and Plan International Nepal is implementing this project in Nepal in partnership with two national NGO partners namely Child Workers in Nepal Concerned Center (CWIN-Nepal) and Women Rehabilitation Center (WOREC). The program is being implemented at the national and local level in 7 districts with the government, CSOs, communities and the private sector as major stakeholder's G.AA Nepal program signed separate Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with the Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN) and Trekking Agencies Association Nepal (TAAN) to develop Gender policy, child protection policy, ethical recruitment policy and decent work (safety and security) and relevant code of conduct of HAN and roll out to its member hotels.

Amidst the above background, CWIN-Nepal calls for expression of interest for interested parties to develop the above-mentioned policies.

Requirements for the consultant

  • 7 years of experience in working on policy development related to Gender and Child protection, decent work (safety and Security). Experience of working on the above issues with the private organization will be an added value.
  • In-depth knowledge of National and International policies and convention on child rights, women rights, Tourism Sector and labour laws
  • Masters in Sociology, Development Studies, Law or any related field
